Costs overview

Within the next 2 or 3 weeks, it’s possible to have a look into the costs generated by your instances and storage. We consider it important for our customers to be able to see how much they are spending. This will prevent bill shock and should prevent unpleasant surprises.

Preparing the Fuga platform for Liberty

Two nights ago we performed major OpenStack maintenance on the Fuga platform. All OpenStack components gained updates, many of which are preparations for the upgrade to OpenStack Liberty. We intend to perform the upgrade to the latest OpenStack release, within the next 2 or 3 months.

Fuga community

As you might know, we have a Fuga community on our website, where you can find answers to any questions you might have. You can also place new questions on the community. We are currently updating the tutorials on our website and we are working on new tutorials. Last Tuesday, we added a new tutorial about creating instances on different compute nodes. Furthermore, we will add a frequently asked questions section to the website.

If you need any support, don’t hesitate to post your question through our community support. If you have knowledge to share with our community about Fuga or OpenStack, please feel free to let us know. We’ll review it so our users can all learn from each other.

Getting started with OpenStack workshop

On December 1, we are organising a workshop to help you get started with OpenStack. The workshop will take place at our office in Alkmaar, starts at 16:00 hrs and will take 2 hours. The trainer will be an expert on OpenStack and Fuga. During the workshop, we will discuss the different components of the Fuga dashboard and we will explain more about instances, networking, images, volumes and ssh keys. We will use this information to roll out a load balanced web platform, thereby also introducing floating IP’s and security groups. We also show you how to use a load balancer. There are still some seats available, so if you’d like to join, please sign up through our website.
