The launch of our new cloud platform was dominating the year 2021. At this moment, it has proven to be very stable and not inferior to the biggest cloud providers in terms of performance. Something we are proud of, but we don’t sit still! We also took a closer look and have put some items on our wish list for this year. In this way, we continue to improve and optimize, but we also focus our attention on expanding our services. We have already mentioned some examples in the previous Fun&Facts. But now we are off to a great start with developing Managed Kubernetes as a Service.
Enterprise Managed Kubernetes in Fuga Cloud
What we will be launching soon:
Your Kubernetes Cluster online within 5 minutes. Once you’ve created your account, you simply click everything you need together and roll out your Kubernetes cluster so that you can get started quickly.
Automatic minor updates from Kubernetes. If you turn on the auto-update, your Kubernetes cluster is automatically provided with the latest minor version. So you don’t have to worry about that anymore. And no, of course, we don’t do that at the busiest time of the day. You can set a time such as 02:00 and even the days such as Friday and Saturday only.
We are preparing major updates. We will prepare the major version updates for you, and as soon as it suits you, you can perform them yourself by pressing a button. We have conducted a test internally with upgrading from a major Kubernetes version. The cluster with Kubernetes version 1.21.9 and 5 large workers went to version 1.22.6 within 15 minutes. And with that, we look confidently to future updates.
Autoscaling Kubernetes nodes. Otherwise known as horizontal scaling, an extra pod or node is automatically created when busy so that the workload can be better distributed and can meet demand. (vertical scaling is increasing resources for the pods, so think of memory or CPUs) If the load decreases and the number of pods exceeds the configured minimum, the command will automatically follow to scale back.
Extensive dashboard. A very extensive dashboard and all kinds of log information are at your disposal so that you can check the status and consumption of your cluster from minute to minute. Everything is together at a glance, so you will never be faced with surprises.
Hibernation schedule. By using the hibernation function of a cluster, you can save money. By putting a cluster into sleep mode, that cluster will no longer use resources, which you can then use for your other clusters. All persistent volumes associated with that cluster are preserved. This makes it possible to activate the cluster again with existing data still intact. A very useful tool for development teams and easy to set up.
Only pay for your worker nodes and resources. Of course, we manage the Master Nodes, but (for now) we also take care of those costs, so you only pay for your worker nodes and the resources used.
We want to start launching the beta version as soon as possible. If you would like to test our new system extensively for free, you are most welcome. Sign up via the button below, and we’ll let you know as soon as you can start. Of course, we expect detailed feedback so that we both benefit from this period.
Although we are busy with our new service, we will not forget everything we already have. And so is our Academy. The current tutorials are all read, tested and updated where necessary. And new How-To’s are also added, such as:
How to install your own OS
learn how to install your own Operating System (OS) in Fuga Cloud, and connect with the Virtual Machine (VM) using the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
How to adjust DNS records
learn how to adjust the DNS records of your domain
100% uptime in 2021
In connection with our ISO certification, we did check all our servers again. And we had no choice but to conclude that we achieved 100% uptime in 2021. And then, you can proudly say that you are running an extremely stable platform.
